The Bone Health Center at Buffalo Orthopaedic Group opened October 1, 2012. In addition to men and women over age 50 with risk factors for osteoporosis, we welcome women over the age of 65 and men over the age of 70. Our center uses a state of the art Hologic Discovery A scanner, with a rotating C-arm that allows patients to lay on their back during the entire test. In addition to DEXA/bone densitometry, the scanner offers Vertebral Fracture Assessment and Body Composition Analysis. One of our experienced medical providers will provide a detailed consultation and treatment options for osteopenia and osteoporosis. Our consultation includes the FRAX assessment which assists in determining fracture risk in individuals. Call (716) 204-1101 to schedule an appointment for a test and consultation.
